About Me:
My hope is that, as humans, we can navigate through this world with the grace and integrity of those who need our protection.

My hope is that we can have the sense of humor and the liveliness of the goats, the maternal protective nature of the hens, and the sassyness of the roosters.

May we have the gentleness and the strength of the cattle.
The wisdom and the humility and the serenity of the donkeys.

May we appreciate the need for community as do the sheep and choose our companions as carefully as do the rabbits.

May we have the faithfulness and commitment to family as the geese.
The adaptability and the affability of the ducks.
May we have the intelligence, the loyalty and the affection of the pigs.
And may we have the inquistiveness, the sensitivity and the playfulness of the turkeys.

My hope is that we can learn from the animals what we need to become better people.

Why are dogs the chosen ones who aren't used for food? Every time a puppy frowns you're in a heartbreaking mood. I wish people would feel the same way about pigs and cows, too! Maybe next time you play with your dog, you'll consider what you chew! ~ Leah B. Coral Sprin… Continue

Words of Wisdom by Jane Goodall

Every individual matters and has a role to play in this life on earth. The chimpanzees teach us that it is not only human but also non-human beings who matter in the scheme of things. Above all we must realize that each of us makes a difference with our life. Each of us imp… Continue

Cloned-food controversy

It sounds like a scenario from a science-fiction novel: The government has declared that meat and dairy from cloned animals is safe, and now cloned products can show up in the nation's food supply. In December 2006, the FDA ruled that food from cattle, pig, and goat clones - animals genetically engineered to be genetic c… Continue

Are You a Healthy Vegetarian?

More and more people are turning to vegetarian diets, and for good reason. Vegetarian diets have been associated with lower body weights, lower cholesterol and blood pressure, and lower rates of type 2 diabetes and some cancers, such as those of the breast, prostate, and colon. The problem arises when the vegetarian diet… Continue

Meet Your Meat: This is NOT an isolated case!

What if someone treated your dog or cat this way? How would that make you feel? What makes a pet better than a cow or a pig or a chicken or a fish? They are all animals that have emotional and physical feelings (scientifically proven - but we all already knew that). This is NOT an isolated case. Only one that was finally caught. Where there are Government FDA Inspectors, they are lazy and sit in their office most of the day, going out at the same time each day to "check" on the animals.… Continue

Aaron and the Glue-Trapped Mouse

The other morning (17 Oct 2007), I found a small mouse stuck to a glue trap next to the dumpster in my apartment complex! There was absolutely no reason for it to be there, who cares if the mouse is outside, when I walked over to get a better look I saw it was breathing, and the terror you mentioned in the article, GLUE TRAPS, I saw it in his eyes, and he began to squeal and kick and just totally freak out, I almost cried.

I started talking to him l…

Deceptive and Ridiculous Application of the Organic Label

The National Organics Standards Board is meeting to decide whether or not to allow farmed fish to carry the federal government’s organic label.

While the industry believes an organic standard for farmed fish would improve operations and improve competition against sub-par foreign producers, opponents believe the label would violate organic standards.

According to those opposed, fish meal and fish oil used in fish farming concentrates harmful PCBs and mercury. Further, they say… Continue

URGENT! FDA Plans to Nuke ALL Our Greens Soon - TAKE ACTION TODAY!!!

Our "beloved" government intends to require that all greens be pasteurized prior to sale, and their open comment period from the public runs only until this Monday, Dec. 3! We need to make our opinions heard and registered immediately if we hope to be able to still buy raw greens in the supermarkets. In the forwarded email below, they refer to the FDA, but they really mean the USDA. Here are the procedures for posting a public comment: 1) To submit online: Go to www.regulations . gov.
