- I'm an Australian currently living in Uganda. I'm volunteering here in order to educate people about the environment. I love the natural world and do my best to not harm it. I also make a conscious effort to convince others to do the same.
My life's quest is to work out if humans can exist as part of the natural world, rather than as masters of it. I have a few ideas at present, and more insights come to me all the time.
Do you love to be free?
I love having my own freedom, making my own choices, doing what I think is best for me.
Just yesterday I walked past some cows standing in a rather large, semi-rural backyard. They were standing in separate stalls; only one could turn around in her stall. I was very saddened by this. Every day, we humans take it upon ourselves to control creatures in some way, whether by keeping them in a stall, killing them, milking them, or taking them for a walk, or serving them some food (instead of letting them do what comes naturally and run around by themselves and their own friends or get some food for themselves).
I'm trying to link up with other vegans who do not believe that humans should control animals in any way. Each life must take its own course and not be subject to the domination by others.
In my personal life, I try also to give all those who I come into contact with the opportunity to be themselves. I follow "don't do unto others" at all times.
I'm also not a fan of the modern world humans have created. Ever since I can recall, I have been a neo-primitivist, and all my learning to date has yet to disprove the sad fact that humans gave up life in the mythical "Garden of Eden" as soon as they decided to collect and plant seeds and to corral and domesticate animals. This is when things started to go wrong for the human species and the rest of the planet.
