Well with the new year come new races and challenges. My first race is 9Mar and is a duathlon (5k run-30k bike-5k run). Then in early Apr is a 10K run, late Apr comes my first half marathon. Mid May is another duathlon (2mi run-10mi bike-2mi run-10mi bike-2mi run) leading up to an Olympic distance triathlon (1.5k swim-40k bike-10k run) the start of June. Mid July brings another du (3k run-24k bike-3k run) finalizing in mid Oct with another du (2mi run-14mi bike-2mi run). If my training goes better than hoped I'm going to "sneak" in a half iron distance tri (1.2mi swim-56mi bike-13.1mi run) in Sept. All this is so amazing to me because just three and a half years ago I was a 225lb couch potato that could feel just how unhealthy I was. Veganism has given me back a life as I want to live it. I made the change both for health and for animal welfare reasons and it has changed my life. I've lost 55lbs and hope to lose another 15. The last race of the season last year was the first one I had done twice and I dropped 13 mins from my previous time. I'll post more results as they come available.
