Stealing or Liberation

So whats the difference? If you only have the means/way to save one out of a dozen animals that are being taken care of poorly or abused (at say, a pet store) is it liberation or stealing?

If the store is open while you do this it would obviously be extremely difficult to take all animals but it seems to me if you can help just one, you should.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?
