Vegans & Vegetarians making a difference!

It is unbelievable how much negative feedback I get from being a vegetarian. First of all I live in a small town and our grocery store does not have any vegetarian products, not even vegetable broth! I am constantly dealing with critisism from all sorts of people in my life. My family is the worst I live down the street from my grandma ( She's a very active 92! ), everytime I walk in the house ( which can be 3 x a day ) she is asking " Do you want some Roast Beef? How bout' some Fried Chicken?" And the constant lecture drives me insaine. I was politely explaining my decision to go vegetarian to her on a daily basis, I have since given up. My parents are just as bad! Giving my children all the meat there little mouths can hold! I work in a deli ( lots of meat ) And my co- workers are always trying to trick me into eating something with meat in it. I have made some great Vegetarian dinners for everyone in my life to try and most of then even refuse to eat it! And to find a guy that is a non-meat lover, IMPOSSIBLE! I am so glad to have SOME AWSOME friends behind me and a great community like this. I feel blessed!

OH MY! AMEN! County Market is discriminating against vegetarians! It makes me so irate when I have to go to Canton to pick through a selection of about 7 vegetarian things. However, I appreciate that they have even made the gesture! My grandpa was trying to give me a porkchop for supper tonight, and I kept having to remind him that I am a vegetarian. Then he brought up vegetable broth and I about flipped over county market not carrying it! Your co-workers really need to respect your choices. In my opinion what they are doing to you is discrimination. You cannot make fun of someone because of their beliefs. And you know how I am, I would probably bring it up to management and threaten to sue! HA HA! Well, I wouldnt go that far, but I would make it clear to them that this is YOUR decision and THEY NEED TO RESPECT THAT! If they want to take home a container of grease infested slaughtered chicken, let them. Just remind them to take a look at that Chesters box when they get home because all the grease that has soaked into the box, they are putting into their body! If you need some support at the good ole ltown store, Im not scared to come up there and regulate! Love ya*

Our local supermarket carries a few vegetarian products but I am always asking them for more organic foods and will keep on pestering them and buying my organic stuff somewhere else.

Talk about negative feedback, try telling your father who is a butcher that his daughter is going veggie!! Ah ha!! yep that's what I had to do. And guess what?... three years down the track my father has decided that red meat is not good for him and is not eating any at the moment!! They may fight and struggle but I'll get them in the end!!! They came to stay with us for four weeks and I just feed them Vegetarian food and nothing else! If they wanted to complain about It they could alway go eat somewhere else but I was not going to cook any meat. In fact now I can't stand the smell of cooking meat.

Thats not fair about your work mates tricking you into eating something with meat in!! Its down right mean! And not fair that your family can not respect your wishes and are feeding your children meat!

Hey mama~
I feel you! I have trouble with my family, I hope I don't offend you by asking, but,do your children eat meat?
I am spoiled with a Whole Foods, so, I can't imagine not having good food available, keep up the good fight!

Honestly, I think some people get jealous when they see that you have made a decision that you're proud of and you live a lifestyle that makes you happy. People are entitled to their opinions (or so I hear) but this "trying to trick vegetarians into eating meat" business is not acceptable. I've been a victim of that as well. It's completely juvenile.
