Asda (Walmart) support animal abuse
I am encouraging any British members to boycott Asda until they back down on their decision to allow independent halal butchers to operate in their stores. As you probably know, the barbaric halal method of slaughtering animals involves cutting the creature's throat without pre-stunning. The British government, in it's infinite wisdom, allow this disgusting religious abuse, even though pre-stunning is required for every other form of slaughter.
VIVA and the RSPCA have condemned Asda for this shocking attempt at financial gain through suffering and I strongly encourage as many people as possible to email Asda , even though you will get a standard response, they do record them and anything that affects their profits or reputation will seriously make them think about it.
This isn't attack on islam, many muslims have said that pre-stunning would not compromise their beliefs. I've been talking to as many people as I can about this issue trying to raise awareness and I've been shocked to discover that not one person knew what halal slaughter involved. I believe it's time that the public knew the truth.
