Vegans & Vegetarians making a difference!

Ok, well i guess my first blog should be about why i became vegetarian lol. Even when i was a kid i wasn't much into meat but my mom made me eat it in fact she thought it was "weird" that i didn't want it. I became Vegetarian for the first time when i was 13. I saw something that made me sick i don't know if it was in a movie or a documentary but it had a pig slaughter house in it and after that i was just like screw this. i stayed a veggie til i was almost 16 but i was (and am) anemic and my mom and a doctor convinced me my anemia was made worse by not eating meat. So i went back to eating chicken and some beef sporatically. It made my mom happy and it got her off my back. Anyway, about 5 or 6 months ago i decided i wanted to go vegetarian again so i went to another doctor and asked him how i could be veggie and anemic and i told him my last doctor said it wasn't possible. Well this doctor said that the other one was crazy it WAS possible so i was like ok AWESOME! and i've been vegetarian ever since then. I take my vitamins and an iron supplement but i'll tell you one thing now i feel MUCH better now than i EVER did eating that "iron rich " meat! Go Veg! lol! =) =)

*note i forgot about this til my friend tracie reminded me, i first took that veg pledge for 30 days after the 30 days i just kept being veg lol! then i went to the doctor lol! =)

I am also anemic, it is definatley possible to be veg and anemic, actually I dont even really need to take a supplement anymore, i eat a lot of spinich and kale and nuts and legumes that have enough iron in them for me these days!
Glad you are veg now!

Oh congrats on coming back to being veggie!!! I'm so happy for you! :) If there is anything I have learned it is that there are some CRAZY doctors out there!

You should mention your awesome veg pledge! Hehehe! It's a great way to have gotten back into being veggie.
