Some interesting info I've read lately, I thought some of yous might be interested, too.
From Dr Klaper's Vegan Nutrition (4th ed. 1998):
Carnivores: have claws, have no skin w/ pores and perspire through their tongues, have sharp front teething for tearing and no flat molars for grinding, have intestinal tracts 3 times their body length to quickly digest decaying meat, and have strong hydrochloric acid in stomach to digest meat.
Herbivores: don't have claws, perspire through skin pores, have flat molars for grinding and no sharp front teeth, have an intestinal tract 10-12 times their body length, have stomach acid 20 times weaker than carnivores.
compare to humans: don't have claws, perspire through skin pores, have flat molars for grinding and no sharp front teeth, have an intestinal tract 12 times our body length, have stomach acid 20 times weaker than carnivores.
(I looked up omnivore stats and they do not subscribed to either of these strict body truths, notice that humans do.)
Some other facts I've learned along the way:
With the exception of a few sporadic insects and a bit of cannibalism, all other primates maintain vegan diets.
Omnivorous humans create antibodies against meat and dairy. Our bodies actually fight to get this stuff out of our system!
